History

Our family business has a long tradition: founded in 1912 in Bracken (Wuppertal-Nächstebreck), our company has survived two world wars and the reconstruction period. The building there was erected in 1908 and offered a production and storage area of approx. 120 sqm.
Rainer Schmitz took over the business from his grandfather in 1973. The expansion of the machine park resulted in a move to larger premises in Wittenerstraße in 1984. The 700 square metres available there sufficed until Christian Schmitz joined the company as managing director in 2002 and initiated far-reaching restructuring. With new machinery and a larger workforce, the need for space increased again and necessitated the move to the current hall with 2,000 sqm of production space in Wuppertal-Elberfeld (Uellendahl). In 2015, the expansion took place by an additional 1,000 sqm to now over 3,000 sqm.
After a fire in September 2019, we joined forces with the support of the city of Wuppertal to build a new manufacturing plant in just 14 months.
