Environmental protection, sustainable action and the economical use of resources are important to us.
That’s why we recently decided to purchase a new e-hybrid company car and use our self-produced electricity to charge it.

Since January 2021, our new employee Thomas Willmann has been strengthening the team at Bandweberei Schmitz.
With his many years of experience in the industry, he will ensure that we continue to position ourselves well on the market in the future!
After the fire in September 2019, we were able to resume production in our new building at the old location after only 14 months, thanks to our combined efforts and the support of the city of Wuppertal.
We used the reconstruction to modernise the machinery and optimise the logistics.
For the new building, we have also continued to pursue our environmental idea and have fitted the roof completely with solar modules.
On 26.9. there was a fire in our production.
The good news is: no one was injured and we will resume production on a small scale from week 41.
We thank all suppliers and customers for their helpfulness. Our tradition since 1912 continues.

In 2019, we commissioned a photovoltaic system, which we use to cover most of our electricity needs in an environmentally friendly way.
In addition, we have redesigned and thermally insulated our façade. Another important step towards saving energy and conserving resources.
